Corona Seltzers Very Drinkable, Ignore Naysayers

by Burk

Back in February, Constellation Brands released its Corona released its hard seltzer drink at probably the worst time possible. Who cares? The real question should always be is this a drinkable beverage.

Constellation then faced ridiculous backlash for a product that had been in the works for years and spent more than $40 million in making the four flavors and bringing it to market—if you didn’t see the Twitter ad, it basically was a photograph of all four flavors with the tagline “coming ashore soon” which caused people to be offended.

There were some rumblings that some were even going to boycott Corona Beer… boy they got that wrong, sales of Corona brands soared 20% while online searches for “corona beer virus” exploded. And rightfully so.

Fast forward to actually going out and purchasing the sample pack due to curiosity, it proved to be a worthy purchase with four flavors which included Tropical Lime, Mango, Cherry, and Blackberry Lime.

It is also a plus these drinks are only 90 calories with 0 grams of sugar and carbs.

Quick Review:

This drink is very light and for you hardcore beer drinkers, this may not be the drink for you. Its basically like drinking a seltzer water because the flavors are very faint—it should be more flavorful but its not.  The biggest comparison to these are drinking a LaCroix sparking water which is never a good thing when you are talking about a beer.

In ranking the four flavors…

  1.  Blackberry Lime
  2. Tropical Lime
  3. Cherry
  4. Mango.

In early summer, we will give this the proper review it deserves.
